If there’s something a bride needs for those close-ups its make-up and a hair style that makes a girl look and feel like a princess! But hang on… we all want to look glamorous when the occasion calls for it, right?
Of course we do! And lucky for us the lovely ladies from le Look make-up artistry and hair styling consultancy in Cape Town, Gauteng and London, have agreed to share a few beauty secrets and professional make-up tips. You might want to bookmark this!
What’s the secret to flawless-looking skin and perfect base?
Moisturise, moisturise and moisturise some more! And after you moisturise, always wait for it to dry. Use a foundation brush to apply your base – it’ll give you a beautiful even finish. For an extra touch, le Look make-up artist Candice Wiesner recommends dotting concealer around the nose from where the bridge of your nose meets the eyebrows to the corners of the mouth. “It will highlight the centre of the face and make your skin look more luminous.”
le Look make-up artist and hair stylist Talita Rademeyer warns that less may be more when it comes to powder. “Don’t be too liberal with powder, especially if you’ve got dry or combination skin. Concentrate on the forehead, nose and chin, areas which tend to be oilier, and only use a little dusting over the cheeks.”
How can we ensure make-up lasts, even in the heat?
Use an oil free foundation, sealed with a loose powder that is specially formulated for maximum shine control.
How can we get shampoo-advert-glossy locks at home?
“When using a GHD, straighten small sections of hair at a time,” recommends le Look stylist Nicole Manning, “the style will last a lot longer.” If your hair tends to fizz, Nicole recommends Argabeta oil. “A little Argabeta oil will do the trick to smooth frizzy flyaway hair.”
What make-up products and trends work well for brides?
We use professional make-up brands such as MAC, Kanebo and Jane Iredale, a mineralised make-up and aim for a make-up look that enhances a bride’s unique features while being timelessly beautiful. Ideally a bride’s make-up and hairstyle should look will look good in photos years after the wedding! We have recently also introduced Airbrush make-up and the Temptu range, this proves to be fantastic for the all-day affair.
Tell us about your wedding packages
At le Look we believe that each bride is unique and prefer to meet up with our brides for a complimentary consultation before quoting.
During the complimentary consultation we discuss different make-up and hair styles that we think would best suit the bride. Once we’ve established the look, we’re able to give the bride an accurate quote. A make-up and hair trial is optional but always quoted upon separately in the package.
We have professional make-up artists and stylists in Cape Town, Gauteng and London. We are happy to travel throughout South Africa for brides; however our main focus in South Africa is in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
