Aurelia and Dale’s Gorgeous Garden Wedding

When Aurelia and Dale started thinking about their wedding, they realised that they wanted a relaxed family Sunday lunch set in a beautiful garden. So, with just 44 cherished guests, including their cute little nieces, nephews and Godchildren, the couple celebrated the start of their marriage with an elegant and intimate garden wedding.

There are so many beautiful details, captured by the talented Ilse Moore of GingerAle Photography, but I particularly love that the couple made their day unique by incorporating their love of hats. You might remember that they also included hats in their gorgeous engagement shoot. It’s a lovely touch.

I’m honoured to feature such a glamorous yet relaxed garden wedding and the inspired photographic talent of Ilse Moore. And I have to say it… Hats off to Aurelia, Dale and their team of wedding vendors for designing and creating an utterly beautiful wedding day!

 {The Wedding Details}

We had an intimate wedding of just 44 guests in total. We wanted the guests to have a good time, feel relaxed and enjoy a good Sunday lunch together.

When we met with Diana and Cindy from Trendy Settings and The Bloom Room, we said we want a relaxed Sunday morning garden wedding with décor to match that. We decided on a romantic rustic chic feel for the day.

I didn’t want the flowers to be too overpowering but rather to look like the flowers could’ve been picked in the garden that morning. We were really happy with the outcome and the food was amazing!

I think the whole garden wedding ‘Sunday lunch’ idea kept things down-to-earth. And since there were only 44 guests, including service providers, we had time to chat with all the guests and really spend time with them.

{The Most Memorable Moments}

Definitely walking towards Dale in the chapel… the whole ceremony was just amazing!

Family is really important to us, and I think the fact that it was such a family-centered wedding was really special.

My cousin married us. He also married Glynis, one of my bridesmaids, and Gareth, Dale’s best man, in 2009, which is where Dale and I met! Glynis and Gareth signed as witnesses, as we did at their wedding.

The kids really stole the show on the day! My nephew, Ty, was the ring-bearer, my God-daughter, Reilly (Glynis and Gareth’s daughter), was the flower girl, and Dale’s nephew and God-son, Christopher, walked down the aisle with our flower girl.

While Dale and I stood in the chapel, we could hear Reilly and Chris (who are both are two-years-old) saying, “That’s my daddy,” while the other replied, “No, that’s my Daddy!”

It wasn’t a stuffy wedding, just a relaxed, family Sunday lunch… and we just happened to get married as well : )

{Advice for Brides-To-Be}

Trust that all your hard work and preparation will come to fruition and enjoy the day!

I made a point to take moments to sit back, kind of get out of my body, and watch the day happen and to take everything in. To have a day where your closest family and friends can sit in a garden and enjoy a Sunday lunch together was a gift to me and Dale.

Everyone commented that the day went by so quickly! And it did but it was without a doubt, the bet day of my life!
